Lohagad Fort Death Initially Treated as Accident, Police Now Suspect Foul Play

What was initially believed to be a tragic trekking accident at Maharashtra's Lohagad Fort has now evolved into a suspected murder case. Pune Police have arrested the fiancée of 26-year-old businessman Ketan Vishal Agarwal and her friend after uncovering evidence that allegedly points to foul play in his death.

The case has attracted significant attention due to the dramatic turn in the investigation and the fact that the couple was scheduled to marry later this year.

Businessman Died During Pre-Wedding Trek

Ketan Vishal Agarwal, a resident of Gahunje in Pune and a director in his family's real estate business, had travelled to Lohagad Fort on June 18 as part of a pre-birthday celebration for his fiancée, Sia Goel.

According to investigators, Agarwal was trekking with his fiancée and two other companions when the incident occurred. During the outing, he reportedly fell nearly 400 feet into a gorge from the edge of a cliff.

Following the incident, rescue teams, including personnel from Lonavala Rural Police and the Shivdurg Mitra Emergency Rescue Team, launched an operation to recover his body.

Wedding Was Scheduled for November

Family members revealed that Ketan Agarwal and Sia Goel were engaged and preparing for their wedding, which was scheduled to take place in November.

The families had reportedly already finalized wedding arrangements and booked a venue in Udaipur, Rajasthan, for the ceremony.

The sudden death of the young businessman had initially been treated as an accidental fall during the trek.

Police Investigation Uncovers New Evidence

As investigators examined the circumstances surrounding the incident, police reportedly discovered evidence that raised questions about the accident theory.

A senior police official stated that findings gathered during the investigation led authorities to arrest Agarwal's fiancée and her friend, who was present at the location when the incident took place.
