Indian Tech Professional Anshul Kuncha Shot Dead in Philadelphia During Alleged Fake Pizza Delivery Trap

Philadelphia, United States: A 28-year-old Indian national from Telangana, identified as Anshul Kuncha, was tragically shot dead in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, after reportedly responding to what authorities and family members believe was a fake pizza delivery order. The shocking incident has sparked concern among the Indian diaspora in the United States and raised questions about the safety of international students and professionals working abroad.

According to reports, Anshul Kuncha was employed by a multinational company in the United States and worked part-time as a pizza delivery executive during weekends to supplement his income. On Saturday night, he received a delivery request directing him to a remote and deserted location in Philadelphia.

Upon arriving at the specified address, Anshul was allegedly ambushed by unidentified attackers. Reports indicate that a gunman opened fire, shooting him multiple times in the head before fleeing the scene. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

Family Alleges Delivery Request Was a Planned Trap

Family members of the deceased have alleged that the pizza order was deliberately placed to lure Anshul to the location. According to them, nothing was stolen from the victim, raising further concerns regarding the motive behind the killing.

Anshul's sister, Tanvi Kuncha, described the incident as a premeditated attack.

"He was told to deliver pizza in an abandoned area, but we later learned it was a decoy. There was no customer waiting there. It was a trap designed solely to kill him," she said.

Reports cited by the family suggest that two masked individuals carrying backpacks were seen in the vicinity around the time of the shooting. However, no arrests have been made so far.

Previous Robbery Incident Raises Concerns

The family also revealed that Anshul had previously been a victim of robbery while living in the United States. During that incident, his mobile phone, chain, and cash were stolen. However, he had never experienced any life-threatening attacks before the fatal shooting.

Relatives are now demanding a thorough investigation into the case and swift justice for the victim.

Family Requests Early Repatriation of Mortal Remains

Tanvi Kuncha has appealed to authorities to expedite the process of returning her brother's body to India so that the family can perform the final rites without delay.

"My brother was a loving and joyful person. He had been living in the United States for nearly four years. We only want his body to be brought back home as soon as possible," she said.

The family stated that officials informed them the body could be released on Monday, but they are seeking faster coordination to complete the repatriation process.

Indian Family Seeks Justice

The grieving family has also urged law enforcement agencies to identify and punish those responsible for the crime. While they have not expressed suspicion toward any specific individual, they are demanding a transparent and comprehensive investigation.

Speaking to media outlets, Tanvi expressed her anguish and cautioned families about sending their children abroad.

"This is a message to parents considering sending their children to the US. My brother was a kind and loving person. He didn't even want to move there initially, but we encouraged him. Today, we have lost him forever," she said.

Anshul Kuncha's Journey to the United States

After completing his B.Tech degree in Hyderabad, Anshul moved to the United States to pursue a Master's degree with the support of his family. Following the completion of his studies, he secured employment with a company identified as KWC and had been building his career while living in America.

Friends and relatives describe him as hardworking, ambitious, and deeply committed to supporting his family.

Indian Consulate Extends Assistance

The Consulate General of India in New York acknowledged the tragic incident and expressed condolences to the bereaved family.

In an official statement shared on social media, the Consulate stated:

"We are deeply saddened by the untimely demise of Mr. Anshul Kuncha, an Indian national in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Our heartfelt condolences are with his family. The Consulate is in touch with local authorities and the family and is extending all possible assistance."

Telugu Community Mourns Loss

The tragic death of Anshul Kuncha has sent shockwaves through the Telugu community in both the United States and Telangana. Residents of Gundlapochampally, along with friends, relatives, and community members, have been mourning the loss of the young professional whose life was cut short under tragic circumstances.

As investigations continue, authorities are expected to examine all possible motives behind the attack and determine whether the delivery request was intentionally used as a lure in a targeted crime.
