Cockroach Janta Party Protest in Delhi: Abhijeet Dipke Confirms Police Permission for Jantar Mantar Demonstration
Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived in the national capital on Saturday ahead of a major protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in national examinations, including concerns surrounding NEET-UG 2026 and the CBSE evaluation system.
New Delhi: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke arrived in the national capital on Saturday ahead of a major protest demanding the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over alleged irregularities in national examinations, including concerns surrounding NEET-UG 2026 and the CBSE evaluation system.
After landing at Indira Gandhi International Airport following his return from the United States, Dipke confirmed that Delhi Police had granted permission for the demonstration to take place at Jantar Mantar, one of the country's most prominent protest venues.
Protesters Asked to Gather Directly at Jantar Mantar
Following the approval, the Cockroach Janta Party urged supporters and students to proceed directly to Jantar Mantar instead of assembling at the Parliament Street Police Station, as was initially planned.
Expressing enthusiasm ahead of the demonstration, Dipke encouraged participants to carry a book and the Indian national flag while joining the peaceful movement. He reiterated his appeal to students, youth, and citizens to participate in the protest against alleged lapses in the examination system.
Tight Security Arrangements Across Delhi
In anticipation of the protest, security has been significantly strengthened across the national capital. According to officials, approximately 2,000 Delhi Police personnel have been deployed throughout the New Delhi district to maintain law and order and prevent any untoward incidents.
Additional security arrangements have also been made near the residences of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, and Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
Protest Linked to NEET-UG 2026 and CBSE Evaluation Concerns
The demonstration comes amid growing criticism directed at the Ministry of Education regarding the alleged NEET-UG 2026 paper leak controversy and concerns raised about the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on-screen marking (OSM) system used for the evaluation and re-evaluation of Class 12 board examination answer sheets.
Several students and education activists have demanded greater transparency and accountability in the examination and assessment process.
Sonam Wangchuk Expected to Participate
Renowned education reform advocate and environmentalist Sonam Wangchuk is also expected to join the protest.
In a message shared on social media platform X, Wangchuk urged participants to maintain peace and remain alert against any attempts to disrupt the movement.
He wrote:
"HOPE FOR THE BEST, PREPARE FOR THE WORST. Let's make this the most peaceful movement in India's history. Please be vigilant that no miscreants play mischief. See you all in Delhi tomorrow..."
Cockroach Janta Party Announces New Spokespersons
Ahead of the protest, the Cockroach Janta Party announced the appointment of three spokespersons to represent the movement before the public and media.
Investigative journalist Saurav Das has been appointed as the party's chief spokesperson. Political researcher and filmmaker Vijeta Dahiya and IIT Kanpur alumnus Ashutosh Ranka have also been named spokespersons.
Origins of the Cockroach Janta Party
The Cockroach Janta Party traces its origins to remarks made by Surya Kant during a court hearing, where unemployed youth holding fake law degrees were compared to "cockroaches." The comment sparked widespread discussion on social media and eventually inspired the formation of the satirical political movement, which has since attracted significant public attention.
