Influencers Criticise Event Management After Hampers Distribution Turns Disorderly
What began as a star-studded beauty and lifestyle event in Delhi has now become the subject of widespread social media criticism. Flipkart's Glam Up Fest 2026, held at Pragati Maidan on June 19, is facing backlash after viral videos showed influencers and attendees scrambling for giveaway hampers amid alleged mismanagement.
The event, which brought together hundreds of beauty creators and influencers from across India, featured brand activations, networking opportunities, and appearances by Bollywood celebrities Janhvi Kapoor and Bhumi Pednekar. However, the closing moments of the festival sparked controversy online.
Viral Videos Capture Chaos During Hamper Distribution
Several videos circulating across Instagram and other social media platforms show large crowds rushing toward stacks of giveaway bags and merchandise.
In some clips, attendees can be seen pushing through crowds and entering restricted areas to collect hampers. Another widely shared video appears to show a heated argument and physical struggle between attendees over a giveaway bag.
The footage quickly gained traction online, prompting discussions about event planning, influencer culture, and crowd management.
Influencers Allege Promised Hampers Ran Out Early
Among those speaking out was influencer Ravleen Kaur, who shared a video criticizing the event's organization.
According to her post, influencers were promised beauty hampers worth approximately ₹6,000 as part of a barter collaboration arrangement. However, many attendees reportedly left without receiving the promised giveaways.
"The overall experience was smooth and enjoyable, but the ending completely spoiled it. Many creators who stayed throughout the event did not receive the promised hampers because the stock was exhausted before the event concluded," she claimed.
She further alleged that event staff were unavailable when the situation escalated, leaving attendees without guidance or support.
Social Media Reacts to Flipkart Glam Up Fest Controversy
As videos from the event spread online, social media users expressed mixed reactions.
Some users blamed the organizers for inadequate planning and crowd control, while others questioned whether certain attendees were more interested in collecting free products than participating in the event itself.
Comments ranged from criticism of influencer culture to concerns about the event's management and attendee selection process.
Many users argued that stricter registration criteria and better distribution systems could have prevented the situation from spiraling into chaos.
Event Highlights Oversight Challenges at Large Influencer Gatherings
The controversy has reignited discussions about the growing scale of influencer events in India and the logistical challenges involved in managing large crowds.
While Flipkart Glam Up Fest successfully attracted leading content creators and celebrity guests, the incident has drawn attention to the importance of proper crowd management, transparent communication, and organized giveaway distribution at large-scale promotional events.
As the viral videos continue to circulate online, the incident has become one of the most talked-about influencer event controversies of the year.
