Patna, Bihar: Popular educator and YouTuber Faisal Khan, widely known as Khan Sir, is set to file an anticipatory bail petition in a Patna court after being named in an FIR related to a vandalism incident at the Khan Global Studies Institute.
The development comes days after police registered a case following an incident involving alleged vandalism and firing at the coaching centre premises in Patna.
Khan Sir Named in FIR Over Coaching Centre Incident
According to Patna Police, Khan Sir has been named in an FIR connected to the vandalism case involving his coaching institute. The matter gained attention after a group of individuals allegedly damaged property, tore down posters, and pelted stones at the institute earlier this week.
Patna Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Kartikeya Sharma confirmed that the educator's name has been included in the FIR as part of the ongoing investigation.
Lawyer Calls FIR a Conspiracy to Defame Khan Sir
Representing Khan Sir, advocate Arvind Kumar Mahuar alleged that the FIR was filed as part of a deliberate attempt to tarnish his client's reputation.
Speaking to the media, the lawyer claimed that Khan Sir's name was included in the case after staff members of Khan Global Studies had previously lodged a complaint against the director of another coaching institute.
According to Mahuar, the educator has no direct involvement in the incident and will seek legal protection through an anticipatory bail petition.
"Khan Sir has been named in the FIR as a retaliatory measure. He will not surrender and will instead approach the court for anticipatory bail," the lawyer stated.
Anticipatory Bail Petition Likely to Be Filed on Monday
The legal team representing Khan Sir has indicated that the anticipatory bail application is expected to be filed before the Patna Civil Court when judicial proceedings resume after the weekend.
The lawyer further maintained that there is insufficient evidence to establish any wrongdoing on the part of his client.
Coaching Centre Guards Detained After Alleged Firing
The controversy stems from an incident that occurred on Tuesday night when a group of approximately 15 to 20 individuals allegedly vandalized the premises of Khan Global Studies Institute.
Police subsequently detained two security guards employed at the coaching centre for allegedly firing shots during the disturbance.
According to preliminary reports, the guards allegedly opened fire after the group reportedly removed institute posters and threw stones at the premises.
Defense Claims Shots Were Fired for Self-Protection
Khan Sir's lawyer argued that available videos and photographs from the scene indicate that the guards fired warning shots into the air solely for safety purposes.
He asserted that no individual sustained injuries during the incident and questioned the basis for linking the educator to the case.
"Based on the available visual evidence, it appears that the firing was intended to protect the premises and staff. No one was injured, and there are no direct allegations against Khan Sir," Mahuar said.
Investigation Continues
Authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the vandalism incident, including the alleged firing and the role of all individuals named in the FIR.
The case has attracted widespread attention due to Khan Sir's popularity as an educator, online content creator, and founder of one of Bihar's well-known coaching institutions.
Further legal proceedings are expected in the coming days as the court considers the anticipatory bail plea and investigators continue gathering evidence related to the incident.
