Authorities Probe Event Organisers, Security Arrangements, and Venue Operations Following Incident at NSCI Dome Worli

Mumbai: A 28-year-old man died and a woman was hospitalised after both reportedly fell ill during a music concert at the NSCI Dome in Worli, Mumbai, prompting a comprehensive police investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The tragic event occurred during the "Klangkuenstler All Night Long" music show, which attracted a large number of attendees on Saturday night. Mumbai Police have registered an Accidental Death Report (ADR) and launched a multi-angle probe into the case.

Concert Attendee Declared Dead at Hospital

According to police officials, the deceased has been identified as Vrishabh Gangurde, a resident of Mahim in Mumbai.

Gangurde and a female companion reportedly attended the music event and later complained of discomfort while inside the crowded venue. Both were immediately rushed to nearby hospitals for medical assistance.

Police stated that Gangurde was declared dead on arrival at Breach Candy Hospital, while the woman was admitted to Jaslok Hospital for treatment.

Officials confirmed that her condition is currently stable.

Police Await Post-Mortem and Forensic Reports

Investigators have begun examining the exact cause of death.

While preliminary findings suggest that a cardiac event may have contributed to the tragedy, authorities have clarified that the final cause of death will only be determined after the completion of the post-mortem examination and forensic analysis.

Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the venue and surrounding areas to reconstruct the sequence of events leading up to the incident.

No Evidence of Drug Use So Far

According to the police statement, the woman informed investigators that she had consumed alcohol and energy drinks during the event.

At present, authorities have stated that no evidence indicating drug consumption has been found. However, officials continue to investigate all possible angles as part of the ongoing inquiry.

Medical and forensic reports are expected to play a crucial role in determining whether any other factors contributed to the incident.

However, the event ultimately received clearance and proceeded as scheduled.

Police are now examining whether all safety recommendations were adequately followed by organisers.

The incident comes just months after another high-profile tragedy at a music event in Mumbai.

In April, two MBA students reportedly lost their lives following a suspected overdose incident during a concert at the NESCO Centre in Goregaon.

Reports suggest that authorities are examining whether there was any irregularity in ticket distribution or potential black-market sales.

Financial transactions linked to the organisers are also reportedly under review as part of the broader investigation.

Additionally, police are looking into claims regarding event protocols and operational practices to establish whether any violations occurred.
